Experimental Procedure

An experimental procedure is a structured method for testing whether changes in one variable produce measurable changes in another under controlled conditions. In psychology, researchers operationalize variables, manipulate an independent variable, measure a dependent variable, and use controls or random assignment when appropriate to reduce confounding influences. Procedures may include participant instructions, stimulus presentation, behavioral or physiological measurements, and systematic data recording. Clear, reproducible procedures help researchers evaluate causal explanations of behavior, compare psychological theories, and assess interventions while supporting ethical treatment of participants and reliable interpretation of results.

2010

Ion mobility-mass spectrometry is an emerging gas-phase technology that separates ions, based on their collision cross-section and mass. The method provides three-dimensional information on the overall topology and shape of protein complexes. Here, we outline a basic procedure for instrument setting and optimization, calibration of drift times, and data interpretation.

Murine Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy: A Surgical Procedure to Downsize Stomach in Experimental Mouse Models
