Yi Hong
Zhejiang University, School of Basic Medical Science
Dr. Hong graduated from ZJU with PhD and is a research associate professor at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Dr. Hong is trying to address the challenges and requirements of current clinical and biomedical engineering. His research is focused on cutting-edge flexible adhesive biomaterials and quick DLP-based 3D printing to build biomimetic "alive" organs. His research findings were published in prestigious journals such as Nature Communications, Advanced Science, Small, Biomaterials, Bioactive Materials, and Applied Materials Today.

Qijiang Mao
Zhejiang University, School of Medicine, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital
Dr. Mao received his MD degree and PhD degree from Zhejiang University, China. Dr. Mao is currently a doctor and a researcher at Zhejiang University's School of Medicine's Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital. Remodification of hydrogels and hydrogel processing technology are among his research interests. He is especially interested in the modification and 3D printing of entirely natural extracellular matrix hydrogels, as well as their applications in biomedicine.

Yiyin Zhang
Zhejiang University, School of Medicine
Yiyin Zhang received her master’s degree in Oncology in 2020 from Fudan University. She is pursuing her PhD in surgery at the School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. She began an interdisciplinary study of surgery and hydrogel in 2020, with the goal of expanding the use of biomedical hydrogel in clinical care. Her current study focuses on the use of hydrogel processing technologies and the remodification of hydrogels in various disease models.
Hydrogels are a novel form of functional material with properties such as flexibility, high water absorption and retention, and good biocompatibility. In addition, researchers have given specific properties through modification, compounding, and processing technology improvement. In the field of medicine, tissue derivatives are increasingly gaining popularity. This field is directly linked to materials science, mechanics, bioengineering, medicine, etc. As a result, we plan to use this method collection to represent important methodologies in the field of hydrogel research and applications.
The scope of the collection includes:
1. Re-modification of traditional hydrogels to meet its new application requirements in tissue engineering.
2. In-depth research on composite modification with other materials to develop better properties (such as rapid degradation, biocompatibility, etc.)
3. Combined with new molding methods, such as the 3D printing process, to prepare personalized hydrogels required for the biomedical industry.
We also believe that many of the experimental and analytical approaches in hydrogel research have potential applications in other research fields. We hope that this collection will help to speed up hydrogel research in the biological field and increase communication among researchers from different domains of science.
