Dr. Bircan Dinc earned a BSc in Physics from Abant Izzet Baysal University and a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. She completed her master's in Biomedical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and was awarded a PhD in Biophysics from Istanbul University. Her PhD thesis, "Investigation of functionalized and protein-loaded carbon nanotubes in a biological environment," focused on the characterization and drug delivery capacity of short, multi-walled carbon nanotubes. In her research, she employed Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry to analyze nanotubes, nanocarriers, and different biomaterials.Currently, her ongoing research focuses on two main areas. The first area centers around the utilization of carbon nanotubes in biosensor development. In the second area, she conducts further studies on the synthesis, characterization, and biological interactions of nanobiomaterials.
