University of Alberta, Resident Physician

Dr. Ryaan EL-Andari received his MD from the University of Alberta in 2022. He is in his second year of Cardiac Surgery residency at the University of Alberta. Ryaan's previous fundamental science research interests include tissue engineering xenogenic materials to create a durable bioprosthetic heart valve. His clinical research interests range from outcomes following coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous coronary intervention, aortic remodeling following aortic dissection repair, sex differences in outcomes following cardiac surgical or interventional procedures, and cardiac remodeling following mitral valve surgery. Ryaan's future goals include enrolling in the Clinical Investigator Program at the University of Alberta to complete a PhD in Experimental Surgery during his residency.
