Finite element analysis technology has a wide range of applications in engineering, and it can be used for the simulation and analysis of various engineering structures. The calculation results and graphical display of finite element analysis have strong intuitiveness and authenticity. It is essential to start a Methods Collection in this field to improve the investigation. The scope includes the use of the finite element method to solve problems in mechanics ranging from linear to nonlinear, including the determination of ultimate load capacity, specifically (1) FEM analysis; (2) linear mechanics; (3) nonlinear mechanics; (4) structural mechanics; (5) solid mechanics; (6) numerical methods; (7) continuum mechanics; and (8) fracture mechanics. Furthermore, we actively encourage the submission of articles that not only tackle theoretical issues but also emphasize practical applications of FEM in design and fracture mechanics. Therefore, we hope it could speed up the research on FEM analysis by the collecting method in this field and promote communication between researchers in different fields.
