Feng Hua Yang
Guangdong Provincial Biotechnology Research Institute
Dr. Feng Hua Yang earned her PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Guelph, Canada, where she specialized in myocardial molecular biology and animal models of disease. She is currently the head of the Cardiovascular Animal Model Research Center at the Guangdong Provincial Biotechnology Research Institute in Guangzhou, China. She also serves as a member of the institute’s academic committee, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and a member of the Leading Group for the Construction of the Guangdong Provincial Large Animal Model Research Center. In recognition of her contributions, she has been honored as a High-Level Foreign Talent in Guangdong Province. Dr. Yang holds editorial board positions in JoVE, The Acta Laboratorium Animalis Scientia Sinica, and the Chinese Journal of Comparative Medicine. She is a committee member of the Cardiovascular Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology and the Chinese Section of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR). In addition, she serves on the ISHR China Translational Medicine Working Committee and the Miniature Pig Professional Committee of the Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences.

W. Glen Pyle
IMPART; BC Women's Hospital
Dr. Glen Pyle is a professor of molecular cardiology and a member of IMPART at Dalhousie Medicine and the Women's Health Research Institute at the BC Women's Hospital. Dr. Pyle received his PhD in physiology and biophysics from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and completed an American Heart Association Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. His research focuses on the molecular basis of cardiac injury, with interests in women’s heart health, sex differences, and molecular therapeutics. Dr. Pyle’s lab is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. He is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, American Journal of Physiology, and Biomolecules.

Huan Sun
China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University
Huan Sun, MD, PhD, is the associate director of the Department of Cardiology at the Third Bethune Hospital of Jilin University (China-Japan Union Hospital), as well as chief physician, associate professor, and a member of the hospital’s teaching committee. He specializes in cardiovascular medicine, with expertise in catheter ablation and cardiac pacing therapy. His research focuses on myocardial remodeling and related cardiac electrophysiological disorders. Dr. Sun serves on multiple professional committees, including the Third Committee on Evidence-Based Preventive Medicine of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, the Sixth ISHR China Committee on Translational Medicine, the Critical Care Cardiology Group of the Fifth Committee of the Cardiovascular Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and the Precision Cardiovascular Laboratory Testing Group of the Sixth Committee of the same branch. He is also Chair of the Committee for the Prevention and Treatment of Sudden Cardiac Death of the Jilin Health Management Association.
Cardiac remodeling is a critical transitional process towards heart failure, and advancing its study requires a strong translational focus. Building upon the foundation of our previous collection on model development and evaluation, this new series aims to spotlight methodological protocols that effectively connect basic discoveries to therapeutic applications.
This collection seeks to feature robust and reproducible experimental approaches that address the translational gap in cardiac remodeling research. We welcome contributions that demonstrate how innovative technologies and advanced methodologies are being applied to the following:
The overarching goal of this collection is to provide a valuable resource for the research community by publishing video protocols that enhance the reproducibility, efficiency, and impact of preclinical studies, ultimately accelerating the journey from discovery to therapy.
