Dr. Eva S. Liu received her BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dartmouth College and her MD from New York University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Yale University School of Medicine and endocrinology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She carried out post-doctoral research in the Endocrine Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital on the molecular and hormonal regulation of complications of the rare skeletal disorder X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH). Dr. Liu is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Endocrine Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Her laboratory is focused on dissecting the pathophysiology of hypophosphatemic rickets and investigating the molecular and endocrine regulation of the maturation and pathologic mineralization of the bone-tendon attachment site (enthesis) as well as the molecular and hormonal regulation of osteocyte lacuno-canalicular (LCN) remodeling. Specifically, Dr. Liu uses molecular/cellular, histological, and advanced imaging techniques to investigate in how mineral ions and hormones modulate osteocyte LCN remodeling.
