Dr. Maulik Vyas earned PhD in 2016 from the University of Cologne in Germany, where he developed novel bi- and tri-specific antibody-based recombinant constructs to harness Natural Killer (NK) cells against leukemia. He continued in the same lab as a postdoctoral scientist studying immune suppression by soluble factors within the ascites of ovarian cancer patients. In 2019, he joined the Cutaneous Biology Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School to study the regulation of NK cell effector functions in solid cancers. Using skin and breast cancer models, his efforts have been to identify novel components in the tumor microenvironment that modulate NK cell functions and to translate these findings to facilitate the development of immunotherapies against cancer.
