Affiliation: Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute

Dr. John-Paul Bacik recently joined the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute as part of the IMCA-CAT team based at the Advanced Photon Source in Illinois, where he is working on high-throughput data collection and processing methods in macromolecular crystallography. He performed his doctoral work in crystallography under the direction of Prof. Bart Hazes at the University of Alberta, studying poxviral enzymes involved in nucleotide metabolism. He has nearly 20 years of experience in protein crystallography and has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and 40 structures in the Protein Data Bank.
