Dr. Heriberto Prado-Garcia is a Medical Scientist at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (Mexico City). He is the chief of the Onco-Immunobiology Lab. His research focuses on CD8+ T cells and tumor evasion mechanisms that affect this immune population. His research involves analyzing the metabolic profile of CD8+ T cells in order to determine potential changes generated by the tumor microenvironment. Another active area of research is the study of tumor cell metabolism and how metabolic changes facilitate immune evasion mechanisms. He works with multiple groups to characterize novel tactics for developing cancer chemotherapies. Dr. Prado-Garcia is the current Coordinator of the Cytometry Chapter of the Mexican Society of Immunology.
