Pr. Jean-Philippe Brosseau completed a PhD in Biochemistry from the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada, where he discovered a cancer-specific alternative splicing program in the ovarian tumor microenvironment using laser microdissected clinical samples. He then pursued postdoctoral training in the lab of the NF1 expert, Dr. Lu Q Le, at UT Southwestern Medical Center, USA. Here he studied the contribution of the NF1 microenvironment to tumoral progression using animal models. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Functional Genomics, he is currently driving a research program to elucidate the functional role of the extracellular matrix in tumor progression, mainly using animal models recapitulating Neurofibromatosis Type I tumors. The overarching goal of his lab is to understand tumoral progression better and develop a novel line of anti-cancer therapy.
