Dr. Pagliarulo received her Degree in Medicine and Surgery summa cum laude at the  University of Naples "Federico II" where she was an internal student at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology and Pathology up through 1998. Afterwards, she specialized in Microbiology and Virology medicine, obtaining her MD and going on to receive her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Medicine at the University of Naples as well in 2006. Following her PhD, she became a researcher and professor in General Microbiology at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at Sannio University. She belongs to the Italian Clinical Microbiologists Association (AMCLI) and the Italian Society of General Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology(SIMGBM).
