Sachin Kumar B received his doctoral degree (PhD) in Biomaterials from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India. After completing his PhD, he received a prestigious Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship at Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPIP, Germany) to research how protein structure at the molecular level influences stem cell response. Upon completing the Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship, he moved to The University of Texas (UT) in Austin, USA, to continue researching the molecular understanding of fibrin-platelet interaction during Hemostasis. In 2021, Sachin joined the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering. His research lab focuses on interdisciplinary field biomaterials, bio-interface, biofabrication, and tissue engineering to understand how the physicochemical properties of the materials regulate cellular functions, tissue regeneration, and disease progression. Such fundamental understanding helps to design and fabricate functional biomaterials to regenerate tissue and treat pathological diseases at the clinical level.
