Dr. Tao Chen is a Professor in the Department of Toxicology at SooChow University, SuZhou, China. His lab focuses on the cardiac developmental toxicity of environmental chemicals. In recent years, his team has revealed the important role of AHR in PM2.5 and Trichloroethylene- induced heart defects during early embryo development. He is also interested in epigenetic mechanisms of carcinogenicity of environmental chemicals. Dr Chen received his PhD degree from institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005. Prior to joining in Soochow University, he carried out post-doctoral researches at the University of Birmingham on furan toxicity, and at University of Newcastle on DNA damage/repair. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers and is a co-inventor on several patent applications.
