Dr. Mia Edgerton-Fulton is a visiting assistant professor of biology at Longwood University, where her research and teaching focus on translational neuroscience and biomedical sciences. She is a translational neuroscientist with expertise spanning neurotherapeutics, neurovascular biology, drug delivery, and experimental models of neurological disease. Her research interests include developing and evaluating therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular disorders, with particular emphasis on the blood-brain barrier, neurovascular unit, cellular models, and emerging approaches for improving the delivery and efficacy of bioactive compounds. Dr. Edgerton-Fulton is also interested in advancing reproducible experimental methodologies that facilitate translation from basic research to therapeutic development. Her interdisciplinary work bridges neuroscience, pharmacology, drug delivery, and cellular biology, with the broader goal of identifying innovative approaches to prevent or treat neurological disease.
