Mock Mri Training

Mock MRI training is a behavioral preparation method that familiarizes participants with the procedures and sensory conditions of magnetic resonance imaging before an actual scan. In a simulated scanner environment, participants practice positioning, remaining still, following instructions, and tolerating the confined space and scanner sounds without undergoing image acquisition. This rehearsal can reduce uncertainty and anxiety while improving cooperation and data quality during MRI studies. Researchers use mock MRI training in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, particularly when participants may need additional preparation, to support ethical participation, standardized procedures, and more reliable measurement of brain activity and behavior.

Reading in color is a new method for training letter-color associations that are typically found only in grapheme-color synesthetes. It involves an implicit form of training that has potential for long-term associative training methods because the training is a byproduct of reading and any text can be colored.

Non-invasive imaging of the brain vasculature’s ability to dilate or constrict may allow a better understanding of cerebrovascular pathophysiology in various neurological diseases. The present report describes a reproducible and patient-comfortable protocol to perform vascular reactivity imaging in humans using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
