Usability Questionnaire

A usability questionnaire is a structured survey that measures how easily, efficiently, and satisfactorily people can use a product, system, or task interface, making user behavior measurable beyond direct observation. It works by presenting standardized questions or statements, often with rating scales, that capture perceptions such as learnability, task difficulty, confidence, and satisfaction; researchers then summarize responses to identify patterns and usability problems. In behavior research, these questionnaires complement performance data by revealing how participants interpret and experience an interaction. They support interface evaluation, intervention design, and comparison of user experiences across populations, while helping guide evidence-based improvements.

Another approach is to observe how the person is acting or look for indicators of how they acted in the past. While observations may seem revealing, it isn’t always easy to know if they are truly accurate. For instance, you may see a person smiling and assume they are happy, when in reality they are annoyed and...

The Nitrogen Cycle

2019

Nitrogen atoms, present in all proteins and DNA, are recycled between abiotic and biotic components of the ecosystem. However, the primary form of nitrogen on Earth is nitrogen gas, which cannot be used by most animals and plants. Thus, nitrogen gas must first be converted into a usable form by nitrogen-fixing bacteria before it can be cycled through other living organisms. The use of nitrogen-containing fertilizers and animal waste products in human agriculture has greatly influenced the...
