24-well Plate

A 24-well plate is a laboratory microplate containing 24 separate wells that support parallel biochemical experiments while conserving samples, reagents, and space. Each well functions as an independent reaction chamber, allowing researchers to add defined volumes of samples and controls, vary conditions such as reagent concentration or incubation time, and monitor outcomes across the plate. In biochemistry, 24-well plates are used for enzyme assays, protein analysis, buffer optimization, microbial growth studies, and sample preparation. Their organized format improves experimental throughput and comparison, while supporting replicates and systematic testing of multiple conditions in a single experiment.

Holter Monitor: 24-Hour Monitoring

2025

Holter monitoring is a continuous electrocardiography (ECG) recording that tracks the heart's electrical activity over an extended period, generally 24 to 48 hours. This noninvasive diagnostic tool detects irregular heart rhythms that may not be captured during a standard ECG performed in a clinical setting.DeviceThe Holter monitor is a portable, small device connected to several electrodes on the patient's chest. These electrodes detect the heart's electrical signals and transmit them to the...

2026

This protocol describes a cost-effective method to accelerate plasmid DNA extraction. By utilizing custom 3D-printed racks compatible with standard swinging-bucket plate rotors, researchers can process up to 48 spin columns with caps or up to 116 spin columns without caps simultaneously, significantly reducing handling time compared to manual microcentrifuge methods.

Corbo1 1 Department of Biological Sciences, Wagner College, 1 Campus Road, Staten Island NY, 10301 Quantitative assessment of prokaryotes can be onerous given their abundance, propensity for exponential proliferation, species diversity within a population, and specific physiological needs. Compounding this challenge, is the four-phase nature in which bacteria replicate (lag, log, stationary and death). The ability to accurately...
