Osteogenesis Promotion

Osteogenesis promotion is the deliberate stimulation of new bone formation, a central goal in bioengineering for repairing skeletal defects and improving integration of implanted materials. It works by providing biochemical, physical, or material cues that encourage mesenchymal stem or progenitor cells to differentiate into osteoblasts, which produce extracellular matrix and mineralize it into bone tissue. In engineered scaffolds and implant systems, researchers combine controlled architecture, surface properties, mechanical signals, and osteoinductive factors to support cell attachment, maturation, and matrix deposition. These strategies can improve bone regeneration and implant fixation while informing biomaterial design for reconstructive surgery and regenerative medicine.

This article describes a method for stabilizing long bone fractures that is based on the application of modified Ilizarov external fixators 1-3. After application of the fixators and creation of the bone injury, healing can be assessed, distraction osteogenesis can be performed, or non-union or critical sized defect can be created and used to study therapeutic interventions.

The Eukaryotic Promoter Region

2020

The eukaryotic promoter region is a segment of DNA located upstream of a gene. It contains an RNA polymerase binding site, a transcription start site, and several cis-regulatory sequences. The proximal promoter region is located in the vicinity of the gene and has cis-regulatory sequences and the core promoter. The core promoter is the binding site for RNA polymerase and is usually located between -35 and +35 nucleotides from the transcription start site. The distal promoter regions are...

Promoter expression analyses are crucial to improving the understanding of gene regulation and the spatiotemporal expression of target genes. Herein we present a protocol to identify, isolate, and clone a plant promoter. Further, we describe the characterization of the nodule-specific promoter in the common bean hairy roots.

We present a mouse tibial distraction osteogenesis model developed using a custom-made distractor. The use of a mouse as an analysis target is advantageous for advancing research.

Promotion Metrics

2025

Businesses rely on various promotional metrics to gauge the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Baseline sales represent the average sales without any promotional efforts, while incremental sales measure the increase in sales resulting from a promotion. For example, if a product typically sells 300 units and a promotion increases sales to 400 units, the incremental sales are 100. This distinction is crucial for evaluating the true impact of promotional activities. Impressions count the number...
