5% Co2 Incubator

A 5% CO2 incubator is a laboratory chamber that maintains a controlled atmosphere for growing and preserving living cells, tissues, and other biological cultures. It regulates carbon dioxide concentration, temperature, humidity, and often sterility, while the supplied CO2 dissolves into bicarbonate-buffered culture medium to stabilize pH near physiological conditions; sensors and feedback controls maintain the target gas level. These incubators support mammalian cell culture, primary cells, organoids, and tissue-based experiments by promoting reproducible growth and cell function. Consistent environmental control is essential for studies of development, disease mechanisms, drug responses, and tissue engineering.

5-Number Summary

2023

In a dataset, the 5-number summary includes the minimum data value, the data value of the first quartile, the median data value or data value of the second quartile, the data value of the third quartile, and the maximum data value. These 5 data values can be visualized as a box and whisker plot. In a box plot, the minimum and maximum data values represent the lower and upper whiskers in the graph, and the median is designated as the center of the box in the chart. The first quartile and third...

The 5 c's of Pricing

2024

The 5 Cs of pricing provide a comprehensive framework for strategic pricing decisions. They include: Company Objectives: The company's goals are pivotal in determining pricing. Whether the aim is to maximize profit, increase market share, or survive in a competitive market, it will directly influence the pricing strategy. Cost: It involves calculating the total cost of producing a product or service, including fixed and variable costs. Pricing must cover these costs and provide a reasonable...

2022

Laboratory soil warming experiments usually employ two or more constant temperatures in multiple chambers. By presenting a sophisticated environmental chamber, we provide an accurate temperature control method to imitate the magnitude and amplitude of in situ soil temperature and improve the experimental design of soil incubation studies.

A General Method for Evaluating Incubation of Sucrose Craving in Rats

Responding for food or drug-paired cues increases over the course of a period of abstinence and this may relate to an increased susceptibility to relapse behaviors. Here we detail a procedure for evaluating this "incubation of craving" in rats that have self-administered sucrose.

A Technique for the Prolonged Incubation of Neuronal Tissue of the Retina

2025

This video demonstrates a method for prolonged incubation of neuronal tissue of the retina. Eyecups containing retina are obtained from a mouse eye; the inner limiting membrane (ILM) is enzymatically digested to expose the neuronal cells of the retina, and either the treated eyecup or the isolated retina is transferred to a specialized incubator for prolonged incubation at a low temperature.
