Cellophane Covering

Cellophane covering is a biological experimental method that uses transparent cellophane sheets to alter the light reaching a plant, helping researchers investigate how specific light conditions affect growth and development. The covering works by transmitting some wavelengths while filtering or reducing others, creating a controlled difference in illumination without fully blocking exposure or enclosing the plant in an opaque material. In plant biology, this approach supports investigations of photosynthesis, phototropism, photoreceptor responses, and light-dependent growth patterns. Comparing covered and uncovered tissues can reveal how light quality and intensity influence physiological processes and clarify the roles of different wavelengths in plant responses.
