Cough Treatment

Cough treatment is the management of a protective respiratory reflex that clears mucus, irritants, and foreign material from the airways while addressing the condition causing it. Effective care depends on distinguishing an acute cough from a persistent one and identifying triggers such as infection, inflammation, allergies, or airway obstruction; interventions may include hydration, humidified air, treatment of the underlying disease, or carefully selected cough-suppressing medicines. In biology and medicine, studying cough pathways helps explain how sensory nerves, airway smooth muscle, and brainstem circuits coordinate this response. Appropriate treatment can relieve symptoms while preserving the airway-clearing function essential for respiratory health.

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease. The Goeckerman regimen, formulated for the treatment of psoriasis, consists of exposure to ultraviolet B (UVB) light and application of crude coal tar (CCT). The following protocol is for the administration of Goeckerman therapy for the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis.
