Mandible Dissection

Mandible dissection is a systematic anatomical technique used to expose and examine the lower jaw and its associated structures, including bone, muscles, nerves, vessels, and teeth. It works through careful removal or reflection of overlying tissues, followed by identification of anatomical landmarks and relationships under controlled laboratory conditions. This approach helps students and researchers connect skeletal form with function, assess the organization of masticatory anatomy, and interpret how the mandible supports chewing and facial structure. Mandible dissection also provides a foundation for comparative anatomy, dental and craniofacial research, and practical training in anatomical observation and documentation.
