Meso Scale Discovery

Meso Scale Discovery is a multiplex electrochemiluminescence assay platform used to detect and quantify proteins, antibodies, and other biological analytes with high sensitivity. In these assays, target molecules bind to capture and detection reagents on patterned multi-array plates, while electrochemiluminescent labels emit light when stimulated by an electrical potential at an electrode; the signal intensity reflects analyte concentration. The platform supports simultaneous measurement of multiple biomarkers in small sample volumes and can accommodate immunoassays such as sandwich and competitive formats. In biology, Meso Scale Discovery assays support biomarker validation, disease research, pharmacology, and monitoring of therapeutic responses.

Hydronium and hydroxide ions are present both in pure water and in all aqueous solutions, and their concentrations are inversely proportional as determined by the ion product of water (Kw). The concentrations of these ions in a solution are often critical determinants of the solution’s properties and the chemical behaviors of its other solutes. Two different solutions can differ in their hydronium or hydroxide ion concentrations by a million, billion, or even trillion times. A common means of...

We developed a technology based on mesoporous silica thin film for the selective recovery of low molecular weight proteins and peptides from human serum. The physico-chemical properties of our mesoporous chips were finely tuned to provide substantial control in peptide enrichment and consequently profile the serum proteome for diagnostic purposes.
