Microarray Printing

Microarray printing is a method for arranging many biological probes, such as DNA, RNA, or proteins, in a defined pattern on a solid surface. It works by using robotic contact pins or inkjet dispensers to deposit tiny volumes of probe solution, which dry or chemically bind to the substrate and create addressable spots. Researchers then expose the array to labeled samples; complementary molecules hybridize or bind to matching probes, producing signals that can be measured and compared. In biology, microarray printing supports gene expression profiling, genotyping, biomarker studies, and multiplex assays, allowing parallel analysis while conserving sample and reagent volumes.

A Peptide Microarray Technology for Specificity Profiling of Antibodies

2025

This video demonstrates a technique that applies peptide microarray technology to profile the specificity of antibodies recognizing post-translational modifications (PTMs) on histone peptides. A microarray slide containing immobilized fluorophore-conjugated histone peptides with known PTM combinations is treated with target PTM-specific antibodies. This process helps identify the antibody's specificity for the target and its potential cross-reactivity with non-target PTMs.
