Muscle Dissection Technique

Muscle dissection technique is a method for separating and examining muscles to reveal their structure, organization, and anatomical relationships. Using careful incisions and blunt separation along natural tissue planes, investigators expose muscle fibers, connective tissue, tendons, origins, and insertions while minimizing damage to surrounding structures. In biology, this technique supports the study of musculoskeletal anatomy, movement, and functional relationships between muscles and bones. It also provides practical training in anatomical orientation and specimen handling, helping students and researchers connect visible structures with principles of biomechanics, comparative anatomy, and physiological function.
