Oc-3 Cancer Cells

OC-3 cancer cells are a cultured cancer cell model used to investigate malignant cell behavior under controlled laboratory conditions. Researchers maintain these cells in vitro and manipulate factors such as growth conditions, drug exposure, or molecular signals to measure changes in cell viability, proliferation, migration, invasion, and signaling pathways. This model supports cancer research by enabling reproducible studies of tumor biology, therapeutic responses, and potential mechanisms of treatment resistance. Findings from OC-3 cells can help identify biological targets and guide experiments that are later evaluated in more complex cellular, tissue, or animal systems.

The processes governing bladder cancer invasion represent opportunities for biomarker and therapeutic development. Here we present a bladder cancer invasion model which incorporates 3-D culture of tumor spheroids, time-lapse imaging and confocal microscopy. This technique is useful for defining the features of the invasive process and for screening therapeutic agents.
