Gastrointestinal Issues

Gastrointestinal issues are disorders or symptoms involving the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas, and they matter because they can disrupt digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall health. They arise through mechanisms such as inflammation, infection, altered motility, obstruction, immune dysfunction, or impaired secretion, producing symptoms that may include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or bleeding. In clinical practice, evaluation combines medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, imaging, and endoscopy to identify causes and guide treatment. Understanding these conditions supports timely diagnosis, symptom control, prevention of complications, and improved patient outcomes.
