Yellow-green Beads

Yellow-green beads are fluorescent microspheres that emit yellow-green light and serve as visible tracers in developmental biology and other imaging-based studies. Their fluorescent signal arises when the bead material absorbs excitation light at one wavelength and releases part of that energy as longer-wavelength emission, allowing researchers to detect and follow the particles with fluorescence microscopy. Introduced into embryos, tissues, or experimental media, these beads can mark injected regions, indicate fluid movement, or provide reference points for analyzing cell migration and tissue morphogenesis. Because they remain readily detectable during imaging, yellow-green beads help connect developmental events with spatial position and transport.

Yellow Fever

2026

Yellow fever is a viral hemorrhagic disease caused by the yellow fever virus (YFV), a member of the Flaviviridae family. It is transmitted primarily by Aedes and Haemagogus mosquitoes in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and South America. After transmission through a mosquito bite, the virus initially replicates in skin-resident immune cells such as dendritic cells and macrophages. These cells then migrate to the lymph nodes, where viral replication increases, eventually leading to...

Green Algae

2025

Green algae, also referred to as chlorophytes, are different from red algae in having the chloroplasts containing chlorophylls a and b, which give them their distinct green hue. However, they lack phycobiliproteins, preventing them from developing the red or blue-green pigmentation seen in red algae. In terms of photosynthetic pigment composition, green algae closely resemble plants and share a close evolutionary relationship with them. Taxonomically Green algae belong to Phylum Chlorophyta in...

2011

Dielectrophoresis (DEP) is an effective method to manipulate cells. Printed circuit boards (PCB) can provide inexpensive, reusable and effective electrodes for contact-free cell manipulation within microfluidic devices. By combining PDMS-based microfluidic channels with coverslips on PCBs, we demonstrate bead and cell manipulation and separation within multichannel microfluidic devices.
