Real-time Operations

Real-time operations are the continuous monitoring and control of processes as events occur, enabling engineering systems to respond within defined time limits rather than after data collection is complete. Sensors and connected devices capture current operating conditions, while software processes incoming data, compares it with setpoints or operating rules, and sends commands or alerts when action is required. In engineering, this approach supports industrial automation, energy management, transportation, and infrastructure supervision by improving situational awareness and coordinating rapid responses. Its effectiveness depends on reliable data, suitable response times, and control strategies that maintain performance, safety, and system stability.

Real Number Operations

2025

The concept of real numbers includes all the values that can be represented on a continuous number line. The system began with basic counting values used for enumeration. It later expanded to include values that represent the absence of quantity and opposites of the counting values. When situations required expressing parts of a whole or dividing quantities evenly, values capable of representing such proportions were developed. When written using decimal notation, these values can end or repeat...

Retraining abnormal movement patterns following injury or disease is a key component of physical rehabilitation. Recent advances in technology have permitted accurate assessment of movement during a variety of tasks, with near instantaneous quantification of results. This provides new opportunities for modification of faulty movement patterns in real time.

Real Time RT-PCR

2021

Real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, or Real-time RT-PCR, is an analytical tool used to determine the expression level of target genes. The method involves converting mRNA to complementary DNA with the help of an enzyme known as reverse transcriptase, followed by the PCR amplification of the cDNA. These two processes can be performed simultaneously in a single tube or separately as a two-step reaction. The real-time quantification of the number of amplified products is...
