Spatial Multiplexing

Spatial multiplexing is a communication technique that increases data capacity by transmitting multiple independent signals simultaneously through distinct spatial channels. In wireless systems, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas use differences in signal paths, channel conditions, and receiver processing to separate these streams, while optical systems can encode data across separate fiber cores or propagation modes. This approach improves spectral efficiency without requiring additional bandwidth or higher transmission power, supporting high-speed cellular networks, wireless local-area networks, satellite links, and optical communications. Its performance depends on channel diversity, antenna or mode isolation, and accurate signal detection.

Multiplexed Immunofluorescence Assay for Spatial Assessment of Senescence Markers in vivo

2026

Multiplexed immunofluorescence enables sequential labeling of multiple antibody markers within a single tissue section to support spatial analysis of tissue architecture and cell populations. Here, a workflow for multiplex detection of senescence-associated, structural, and immune markers is presented, including manual and automated slide preparation, iterative imaging, and single-cell analysis using digital pathology software.

Source: Laboratory of Jonathan Flombaum—Johns Hopkins University Attention refers to the limited human ability to select some information for processing at the expense of other stimuli in the environment. Attention operates in all sensory modalities: vision, hearing, touch, even taste and smell. It is most often studied in the visual domain though. A common way to study visual attention is with a spatial cueing paradigm. This paradigm allows researchers to measure the consequences of focusing...
