Support Disconnection Technique

Support Disconnection Technique is an engineering method for separating a fabricated component from temporary support structures while preserving the component’s geometry and surface quality. It works by creating or using a controlled interface between the part and its supports, allowing the connection to release through a targeted mechanical action or another designed separation process after fabrication. This approach is particularly relevant to additive manufacturing and other processes that require temporary scaffolding during production. Effective support disconnection can reduce post-processing time, prevent damage, improve dimensional accuracy, and enable more complex designs with overhangs, internal features, or delicate geometries.

Femtosecond-laser direct-writing is frequently used to create three-dimensional (3D) patterns in polymers and glasses. However, patterning metals in 3D remains a challenge. We describe a method for fabricating silver nanostructures embedded inside a polymer matrix using a femtosecond laser centered at 800 nm.

An In Vitro Technique to Study T Cell Interaction with Supported Planar Lipid Bilayers

2025

This video demonstrates an in vitro technique to study immune synapse formation between primary human T cells and supported lipid bilayers (SLB). T cell surface proteins interact with respective ligands immobilized on SLB to form an immune synapse, followed by the movement of lytic granules towards the synapse, which is visualized using fluorescence microscopy.

Self-help support groups are voluntary, community-based organizations that provide a platform for individuals with shared concerns to exchange support, insights, and practical strategies for coping with life challenges. Typically led by group members or paraprofessionals, these groups form a cornerstone of mental health care, especially in reaching populations that are underserved by traditional healthcare systems. Accessibility and Cost-Effectiveness One of the primary strengths of self-help...

Sample preparation for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is a significant bottleneck in the structure determination workflow of this method. Here, we provide detailed methods for using an easy-to-use, three-dimensionally printed block for the preparation of support films to stabilize samples for transmission EM studies.
