Epa Vials

EPA vials are standardized sample containers used in environmental testing to collect, preserve, and transport specimens for laboratory analysis. Typically made of chemically resistant glass and sealed with a tight-fitting cap and septum, they limit evaporation, contamination, and chemical reactions; minimizing headspace is especially important when sampling volatile organic compounds. Proper vial selection, filling, sealing, labeling, and temperature control help maintain sample integrity from collection through analysis. These containers support regulatory monitoring of drinking water, wastewater, soil, and hazardous sites, enabling reliable measurements of pollutants and defensible comparisons with environmental quality standards.

We introduce the VacuSIP, a simple, non-intrusive, and reliable method for clean and accurate point sampling of water. The system was developed and evaluated for the simultaneous collection of the water inhaled and exhaled by benthic suspension feeders in situ, to cleanly measure removal and excretion of particulate and dissolved compounds.
