Metabolic Health Assessment

Metabolic Health Assessment is the systematic evaluation of physiological factors that reflect how effectively the body regulates energy, glucose, and lipids, providing insight into current health and disease risk. It combines clinical measurements and laboratory biomarkers, such as blood glucose, insulin, lipid levels, blood pressure, and waist circumference, with family history and, when appropriate, genetic information; genetic variants may influence pathways involved in insulin sensitivity, lipid metabolism, and obesity, while measured traits indicate their present effects. In genetics research and clinical care, this assessment helps distinguish inherited susceptibility from modifiable influences, support risk stratification, guide prevention strategies, and evaluate responses to lifestyle or therapeutic interventions.
