Cd45 Cd66b

CD45 and CD66b are cell-surface markers used to identify and characterize immune cells, making them valuable for studying leukocyte composition and granulocyte responses during infection. CD45, also called the leukocyte common antigen, is broadly expressed on hematopoietic cells, while CD66b is associated mainly with mature and activated granulocytes, particularly neutrophils. Fluorescently labeled antibodies against these markers allow researchers to distinguish CD45-positive leukocytes and assess CD66b expression by flow cytometry or microscopy. This marker combination supports the analysis of immune-cell recruitment, neutrophil activation, inflammation, and host responses in clinical samples and experimental infection models.

Quantitative Flow Cytometric Measurement of Fungal Spore Phagocytosis by Human Phagocytes

2025

This video demonstrates a method for quantifying the phagocytosis of FITC-labeled pathogenic fungal spores by human leukocytes. Phagocytosed spores are discerned from cell-adherent spores through counterstaining, followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Peritoneal Low-density Neutrophil Isolation: A Technique to Obtain Low-density Neutrophils from Peritoneal Lavage Fluid Using Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting

2023

In this video, we describe the procedure for isolating low-density neutrophils, or LDNs, from the peritoneal lavage fluid of a postoperative human patient. The LDNs thus obtained can be used in further downstream experiments to understand their role in tumor growth and progression.

Low-density neutrophils (LDN) increase significantly in several diseases. LDN are usually isolated through cell sorting. We present a practical method to obtain pure and viable LDN. After density-gradient centrifugation of peripheral blood, cells are incubated with magnetic microbeads, and then LDN are separated through magnetic columns.

Identification Of Erythromyeloid Progenitors And Their Progeny In The Mouse Embryo By Flow Cytometry

While infiltrating macrophages are continuously recruited to adult tissues from circulating precursors, resident macrophages seed their tissue during development, where they are maintained without further input from progenitors. The progenitors for resident macrophages were recently identified. Here, we present methods for the genetic fate mapping of the resident macrophage progenitors.
