Glucose Detection Strip

Glucose detection strips are disposable analytical devices that estimate glucose concentration in a sample, most commonly blood or urine, by producing a measurable color or electrical signal. A sample wets a chemically treated test area containing glucose-reactive reagents, typically an enzyme such as glucose oxidase; the reaction generates a color change or electrochemical current that a visual chart or meter converts into a glucose reading. In immunology and infection research, these strips provide rapid, low-cost measurements of metabolic status and can complement studies of illness, treatment, and experimental infection. Their simplicity supports point-of-care screening and testing in resource-limited settings.

2016

This protocol describes the development of two IgG class monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) strongly reactive to myoglobin of cetaceans. These mAbs are applied on a colloidal gold immunochromatographic test strip based on the sandwich format to differentiate the Mb of cetaceans from seal and other animals.

NiO Nanoflowers for Non-Enzymatic Amperometric Detection of Glucose

Samuel1, Kavaljit Chhabra11University of Rochester Medical Center. This video demonstrates a procedure for collecting mouse urine and assessing its glucose levels. To evaluate the glucose level, immerse a test strip coated with enzymes and a chromogenic dye into the sample, initiating a color change that indicates the glucose levels. For quantifying urine glucose levels, introduce a urine sample to a multiwell plate with escalating glucose concentrations,...
