Compare Data Sets

Compare Data Sets is a mathematical process for examining two or more collections of values to identify similarities, differences, patterns, and relationships. It typically involves organizing data, using tables or graphs, and evaluating measures such as mean, median, range, and variability while considering the scale and context of each set. Comparing distributions can reveal differences in central tendency, spread, outliers, or trends that summary values alone may not show. This approach supports evidence-based interpretation in statistics, research, and everyday decision-making, helping determine whether data sets reflect comparable conditions or meaningful changes.
