Prism Nets

Prism nets are two-dimensional patterns that represent the surfaces of a three-dimensional prism, making solid geometry easier to visualize and analyze. A net typically contains two congruent polygonal bases connected by a strip of rectangular or parallelogram-shaped lateral faces; folding the pattern along its edges reconstructs the prism without overlapping surfaces. In mathematics, prism nets help students relate plane figures to solid figures, calculate surface area by summing the areas of all faces, and test whether a layout can form a closed solid. They also support spatial reasoning and practical designs such as packaging, models, and geometric constructions.

In the following protocol, we describe a very simple way to isolate Neutrophil Extracellular traps (NETs) from human whole blood using readily available reagents. We then demonstrate how the isolated NETs can be used in an in vitro adhesion assay with cancer cells.

Time-lapse Fluorescence Microscopy of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps or NETs: A Technique to Analyze Post-adhesion Interaction between Cancer Cells and NETs

In this video, we analyze the post-adhesion behavior of cancer cells trapped in neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) by co-culturing low-density neutrophils and gastric cancer cells. The time-lapse video analysis helps monitor various cellular events and study the role of NETs in pathological conditions.

This experimental protocol demonstrates the use of virtual prism adaptation therapy (VPAT) in healthy adults and the association between VPAT and functional near infrared spectroscopy to determine the effect of VPAT on cortical activation. Results suggest that VPAT may be feasible and could induce similar behavioral adaptation as conventional prism adaptation therapy.
