Core Target Proteins

Core target proteins are key molecular proteins implicated in a disease process and prioritized as intervention points in medical research. Therapeutic compounds, antibodies, or other agents act on these proteins by binding specific sites or altering their activity, which can modify downstream signaling, protein interactions, or cellular responses. Identifying core target proteins helps researchers connect disease mechanisms with potential treatments, evaluate biomarkers, and prioritize candidates for drug discovery and validation. Their analysis can also clarify how therapies produce benefits or adverse effects, supporting more precise treatment strategies and the development of medicines guided by molecular evidence.

The Nucleosome Core Particle

2020

Nucleosomes are the DNA-histone complex, where the DNA strand is wound around the histone core. The histone core is an octamer containing two copies of H2A, H2B, H3, and H4 histone proteins. The paradox Nucleosomes, paradoxically, perform two opposite functions simultaneously. On the one hand, their main responsibility is to protect the delicate DNA strands from physical damage and help achieve a higher compaction ratio. While on the other hand, they must allow polymerase enzymes to access DNA...

2025

In this video, we demonstrate an EGFP-based immunofluorescence assay to identify the efficacy of target proteins on the neurite outgrowth of primary cortical neurons. The primary neurons are transfected with a fluorescent protein, EGFP, and a target protein, and then an immunoassay is performed to investigate the effect of the target protein on neurite outgrowth.

Assessing the Internalization of Target Surface Proteins Using a Biotin Derivative
