Cyanoacrylate Injection

Cyanoacrylate injection is a minimally invasive medical technique that uses tissue adhesive to seal bleeding vessels or block abnormal vascular channels. When liquid cyanoacrylate contacts blood or other moist tissue, it rapidly polymerizes into a solid material, producing local hemostasis or vascular occlusion; clinicians deliver it through a needle or catheter, often with imaging or endoscopic guidance. In medicine, the technique is used especially to control bleeding from gastrointestinal varices and, in selected cases, to treat vascular malformations or other targeted vessels. Its rapid action can stabilize patients, while careful delivery is essential to limit unintended embolization and tissue injury.

2016

This article presents a protocol for the production of protein-based nanoparticles that changes the hydrophobic surface to hydrophilic. The produced nanoparticle is an assembly of gliadin-cyanoacrylate diblock copolymers. Spray coating with the produced nanoparticle changes the surface of target material to a hydrophilic surface.

Creating experimental retinal detachments with a reproducible and sustained height of detachment, and without subretinal hemorrhage, is important for studying the pathophysiology of photoreceptor cell loss in retinal disease and evaluating potential therapeutic interventions. Here, we report such a method in detail.
