Ecg Electrode Implantation

ECG electrode implantation is the surgical placement of conductive electrodes in or beneath the body to record the heart’s electrical activity when surface electrodes are insufficient for a study or prolonged measurement. The electrode–tissue interface detects voltage changes produced by myocardial depolarization and repolarization, then transmits these signals to a recording system for waveform analysis. In medicine and biomedical research, implanted ECG electrodes support continuous cardiac monitoring, investigation of arrhythmias, evaluation of cardiac function, and development or testing of implantable devices. Proper positioning, stable tissue contact, and careful signal processing are essential for reliable recordings and clinically meaningful interpretation.
