Human Albumin Detection

Human albumin detection is the measurement of albumin, the most abundant protein in human blood, in clinical or biological samples to assess protein distribution and health-related changes. Many detection methods use antibodies that specifically bind human albumin, producing a measurable signal whose intensity corresponds to the albumin concentration; other assays use chemical or instrument-based protein measurement principles. In medicine, these measurements support evaluation of blood protein status and the interpretation of albumin levels in samples such as serum, plasma, urine, or other body fluids. Reliable detection also enables laboratory research, biomarker studies, and monitoring of physiological or disease-associated changes.

Begin with a bacterial biosensor culture suspended in a medium. These engineered bacteria produce a transcription factor that, upon binding to a specific fecal metabolite, activates a promoter associated with a fluorescent reporter gene.To this culture, add a filtered human fecal sample containing metabolites, such as lactate, that are involved in host-microbiome interactions.Dilute this mixture with a fresh medium to maintain an optimal reaction volume.Incubate without shaking to mimic the...

In Vivo Detection and Analysis of Rb Protein SUMOylation in Human Cells

2017

Small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO) family proteins are conjugated to the lysine residues of target proteins to regulate various cellular processes. This paper describes a protocol for the detection of retinoblastoma (Rb) protein SUMOylation under endogenous and exogenous conditions in human cells.
