Vibration Elastography

Vibration elastography is a noninvasive imaging technique that assesses tissue mechanical properties, especially stiffness, which can change with fibrosis, tumors, inflammation, or other disease processes. The method applies a controlled external or acoustic vibration to tissue and uses ultrasound or another imaging signal to track the resulting displacement and shear-wave propagation; wave speed and motion patterns are then converted into quantitative stiffness measurements. In medicine, vibration elastography supports the evaluation of organs such as the liver, breast, and thyroid, offering information that complements conventional anatomical imaging and may help guide diagnosis, monitor disease progression, and assess treatment response.

Vibrating Concrete

2024

Mechanical vibrators are instrumental in compacting newly poured concrete within formwork and around reinforcements. This process is essential to eliminate trapped air pockets and establish a dense concrete mass. One widely used method is vibrating by internal vibrators, often referred to as a poker vibrator or immersion vibrator. It is rapidly inserted through the full depth of the freshly laid concrete and slightly extends into the layer below it (which remains in a plastic state). Consistent...
