Avidin Horseradish Peroxidase

Avidin horseradish peroxidase is a biotin-binding enzyme conjugate used to detect and visualize biotinylated molecules in biological samples. Its avidin component binds biotin with high affinity, while horseradish peroxidase catalyzes the hydrogen peroxide-dependent oxidation of chromogenic or chemiluminescent substrates, producing a localized detectable signal. In neuroscience, this reagent supports immunohistochemistry, neural tracing, and microscopic mapping of proteins, cells, or pathways in brain tissue. The avidin-biotin interaction provides sensitive signal amplification, helping researchers identify molecular targets and analyze their distribution within complex neural structures.
