Hand Grip Rehabilitation

Hand grip rehabilitation is a therapeutic approach that restores or improves the strength, coordination, endurance, and functional use of the hand after injury, illness, or neurological impairment. Exercises may use graded resistance, repeated grasp-and-release movements, and task-specific practice to activate sensory and motor pathways; proprioceptive feedback from muscles and joints helps the nervous system refine force, timing, and recruitment of finger and forearm muscles. In neuroscience, hand grip rehabilitation provides a practical model for studying motor learning and experience-dependent neuroplasticity, while clinical programs use measures such as grip force and fatigue to track recovery and tailor progression. Its principles also support rehabilitation technology and assistive-device design.
