Behavioral Conditioning

Behavioral conditioning is a learning process in which experiences shape behavior by linking actions or stimuli with specific consequences. In classical conditioning, a previously neutral stimulus becomes associated with a response after repeated pairing with an unconditioned stimulus, whereas operant conditioning changes behavior through reinforcement or punishment. Psychologists use conditioning principles to study habit formation, motivation, emotion, and behavior change in humans and animals. These principles inform therapeutic techniques, classroom strategies, animal training, and behavior modification, while also helping researchers understand how environmental cues and consequences influence learning, adaptation, and long-term behavioral patterns.

Experiments on phase separated giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) frequently neglect physiological solution conditions. This work presents approaches to study the effect of high-salinity buffer on liquid-liquid phase separation in charged multicomponent GUVs as a function of trans-membrane solution asymmetry and temperature.
