Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a structured, collaborative treatment that uses psychological methods to help people understand and change distressing thoughts, emotions, behaviors, or relationship patterns. Through a therapeutic alliance, trained clinicians apply approaches such as cognitive restructuring, exposure, behavioral activation, mindfulness, or supportive dialogue, adapting treatment to a person’s goals and needs. In psychology, psychotherapy is used to address mental health conditions, manage stress, improve coping, and strengthen interpersonal functioning. Research on its outcomes informs clinical practice, treatment planning, and the development of more accessible, personalized interventions across diverse populations.
