Antigen Tagged Lesion

An antigen-tagged lesion is a tissue abnormality identified by detecting a specific antigen within or around the affected region, linking visible pathology to a molecular feature. In biological research, antibodies bind the target antigen in preserved tissue, and the resulting complexes are visualized with fluorescent, enzymatic, or other detectable labels through methods such as immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence. This approach helps researchers distinguish lesion types, localize infectious agents or disease-associated proteins, and relate cellular changes to underlying biological processes. Antigen tagging supports tissue pathology, disease diagnosis, experimental models, and studies of how infections, tumors, or immune reactions develop over time.

While replication fork collisions with DNA adducts can induce double strand breaks, less is known about the interaction between replisomes and blocking lesions. We have employed the proximity ligation assay to visualize these encounters and to characterize the consequences for replisome composition.

Development of an Antigen-driven Colitis Model to Study Presentation of Antigens by Antigen Presenting Cells to T Cells

In this antigen-driven colitis model, OT-II CD4+ T cells expressing a red fluorescent protein were adoptively transferred into RAG-/- mice that express a green fluorescent protein in mononuclear phagocytes (MPs). The hosts were challenged with Escherichia coli (E.coli) expressing the ovalbumin protein (OVA) fused to a cyan fluorescent protein (CFP).

Viral Antigen Microarray Assay to Detect Antibody Isotypes in Serum Against Viral Antigen

In this video, we demonstrate the process for detecting antibody isotypes in multiple human serum samples using a microarray slide printed with antigenic subtypes of influenza virus strains.

Sectioning Mammary Gland Whole Mounts for Lesion Identification

We developed a method to successfully remove, process, section, and stain, for histopathological evaluation, mammary tissue that had originally been fixed on slides as whole mounts. This method may promote the collection and evaluation of mammary gland whole mounts in reproductive and developmental test guideline studies.

Comparative Lesions Analysis Through a Targeted Sequencing Approach
