60-microwell Plates

60-microwell plates are laboratory culture vessels containing 60 separate wells for organizing, treating, and observing multiple biological samples in parallel. Each microwell creates an isolated microenvironment that helps maintain defined volumes of culture medium while limiting sample mixing, enabling controlled exposure to signals, drugs, or developmental conditions. In developmental biology, these plates support embryo culture, cell aggregation, and studies of tissue or organoid formation under standardized experimental conditions. Their parallel format improves experimental throughput, conserves reagents, and enables systematic comparisons of developmental stages, treatments, and cellular responses.

2025

Source: Fattahi, N., et al. Photodegradable Hydrogel Interfaces for Bacteria Screening, Selection, and Isolation. J. Vis. Exp. (2021)This video demonstrates the use of photodegradable hydrogels to isolate bacterial colonies within silicon microwell arrays. Bacterial cells are first loaded into microwells, encapsulated in a crosslinked hydrogel, and cultured into distinct colonies. Upon exposure to ultraviolet light, targeted degradation of the hydrogel enables selective extraction of individual...

Conventional methods to initiate suspension aggregate based cardiac differentiation of human pluripotent stems cells (hPSCs) are plagued with culture heterogeneity with respect to aggregate size and shape. Here, we describe a robust method for cardiac differentiation employing microwells to generate size-controlled hPSC aggregates cultured under cardiac-promoting conditions.

Here we present a protocol for the fabrication of C60/graphene hybrid nanostructures by physical thermal evaporation. Particularly, the proper manipulation of deposition and annealing conditions allow the control over the creation of 1D and quasi 1D C60 structures on rippled graphene.
