Graphene Paper Electrode

A graphene paper electrode is a thin, lightweight conductive sheet made from graphene or graphene-based layers, combining high electrical conductivity with flexibility and a large accessible surface area. Its interconnected carbon network transports electrons across the paper while exposing active sites to surrounding electrolytes, enabling charge transfer at the electrode interface. In engineering, these electrodes support electrochemical sensors, energy-storage devices, and flexible or wearable electronics, where low mass, mechanical adaptability, and efficient electrical response are important. Their tunable structure also enables researchers to modify surface chemistry, porosity, and composite composition for improved sensitivity, capacity, or device integration.

2014

A microdevice with high throughput potential is used to demonstrate three-dimensional (3D) dielectrophoresis (DEP) with novel materials. Graphene nanoplatelet paper and double sided tape were alternately stacked; a 700 μm micro-well was drilled transverse to the layers. DEP behavior of polystyrene beads was demonstrated in the micro-well.
